PRESENTATION OF THE FUNKEN EUROPEAN SUMMER SCHOOL
30 young international artists spent three months researching and experimenting together with renowned mentors from the art world in their studios and in the laboratories of Fraunhofer ENAS and Fraunhofer IWU in a close exchange between art and science.
Participants folded DNA and sculpted with mycelium-infused substrate, information was transformed into virtual data and processed into fine metal structures.
On the afternoon of 13.10.2023, a public presentation at the Technology Campus in Chemnitz provided an opportunity to gain an insight into the preliminary results of the summer school and to engage in an exchange with all participants, after which the artistic works will be finalized and sent on a European exhibition tour in 2024.
