Collective Campus art project with Peter Piek | 17.06.2025
Art connects - regardless of location, medium or experience. All it takes is a piece of chalk to turn passers-by into artists, create encounters and give your own creativity a visible voice. Anyone can become part of the whole - young or old, beginner or professional. The forecourt of the Orangerie will become a giant canvas - and you are invited to help shape it.

The art campaign is a collective experience: a large-scale chalk painting campaign in which everyone can take part. It symbolises the power of art to connect people and shows how creativity serves as a bridge to better understand each other. Even with the simplest of tools such as chalk, depth, beauty and community can be created – immediately, visibly and together.

What emerges is not a rigid work of art, but a temporary mosaic of the city – a reflection of its diversity and togetherness. Over the course of the event and the following days, the collective work will constantly change: Colours overlap, footprints blur contours, the wind interferes with images and finally the rain will wash everything away. A symbol of the fleeting, living nature of artistic creation.

To the artist:

Peter Piek is an internationally active artist, musician, author and performer – and a true multi-talent. Born in Chemnitz, he combines music, painting, performance and literature in his work to create an independent, colourful Gesamtkunstwerk.

Peter Piek has also made a name for himself in the visual arts: his works have already been exhibited in Europe, Asia and North America. His works are characterised by bold colours, abstract figures and an expressive visual language.

Whether on stage or on canvas, Peter Piek’s work stands for independence, a love of experimentation and a deep humanistic concern. With his projects, he aims to open up spaces, bring people together and initiate creative processes
