The starting point is a case compiled in the run-up to the innovation workshop, containing materials, images and traces from the companies’ day-to-day operations. Engaging with this material gives rise to model-like scenographies that illustrate how business activities might be viewed in retrospect in the future. The results will be exhibited publicly at Makers United 2026. FUNKEN Pilot is a collaborative event with KREATIVES SACHSEN, focusing on cross-innovation with cultural and creative professionals in Saxony.
Makers United is a major participatory festival for creativity, technology, craftsmanship and science (MINKT), which takes place annually in Chemnitz. 27 June 2026 | 10:00 to 18:00 | Stadthalle Chemnitz.
The FUNKEN Academy is seeking four companies and/or research institutions from the technology sector for a one-day workshop on 26 June 2026 in Chemnitz, followed by an exhibition at Makers United 2026 the following day. Participants will be paired with artists to form a tandem.
The starting point is a suitcase they have packed themselves, containing materials and impressions from their own everyday working lives. Working as a team, they will use this to create a model scenography showing what their own work might look like in the future. The results will be presented to the public as part of Makers United at the Stadthalle Chemnitz.
